Unnat Bharat Abhiyan is inspired by the vision of transformational change in rural development processes by leveraging knowledge institutions to help build the architecture of an Inclusive India.
The mission of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan is to enable higher educational institutions to work with the people of rural India to identify development challenges and evolve appropriate solutions for accelerating sustainable growth. It also aims to create a virtuous cycle between society and an inclusive academic system by providing knowledge and practices for emerging professions and upgrading the capabilities of both the public and the private sectors in responding to the development needs of rural India.
The institute has conducted a detailed household and village survey for all 5 villages to analyse the needs in these villages.
Under the Central government flagship program “Unnat Bharat Abhiyan,” IIMU conducted various activities. Faculty and Staff volunteer towards sustainability, environmentally friendly projects, skill development of rural communities, fostering inclusive growth, and reducing the urban-rural divide by promoting rural development and empowerment and ultimately fostering social responsibility among the community members.
Objective - Celebrating “Swachhata Pakhwada” with the objective of bringing a fortnight of intense focus on the issues and practices of Swachhata by engaging various ministries/departments of the Government of India. This is one of the key initiatives under the Swachh Bharat Mission.
Details - Team Prayatna, along with the CSR Department of the institute, visited “Government Senior Secondary School, Balicha” and engaged with the children. By building a close bond with them, the team tried to instil the importance of cleanliness as a discipline and guide them on how to bring it into their routine. The event was a part of the “Swachhta Pakhwada” and witnessed an audience of around 300 students. The event started with an address from the Sarpanch of the village, followed by inspirational words from Ms Shanu Lodha Ma’am (Sr. Administrative Officer – CSR Department).
The students were later encouraged to participate in cleaning the campus. In response, along with the Prayatna Team, the majority of the students participated. The students not only learned about cleanliness but also about teamwork and coordination.
At the end of the event, we built a strong relationship with the students, and we all realized that cleaning could also be a fun activity.

Details - The members of the Prayatna club along with 32 students from the IIMU community visited Grah Jeewan Jyoti Adivasi Chatrawas, Sukher, Udaipur. There were 68 boys in the orphanage. Sweets, chips, and other stationery items were distributed to them. Fun activities, dance, one minute games, cricket etc. was the point of attraction for orphanage students.

Objective - The objectives of the Plastic Ban Campaign are multifaceted and aim to address various environmental, social, and economic issues associated with plastic usage.
Details - IIMU's CSR Department, along with the staff members, visited the market area in the Sukhadiya circle and explained the importance of the plastic ban among the various stalls in a portable street market. Eco-friendly straws and paper plates were distributed to various “Cart Vendors”. Under the initiative of the CSR Department headed by Sr. Administrative Officer (Ms Shanu Lodha), the event was supported by staff members, including Mr Gajendra Ranawat, Mr Ramu, Mr Indraj, Mr Akshay, Ms Bhavika, Mr Arvind, Mr Kushal. They inspired individuals to adopt plastic-free lifestyles and promote responsible consumption patterns and waste reduction practices. To involve communities in plastic ban initiatives.

Objective - The objective of the drive is to encourage individuals to adopt and care for plants. To create an awareness that each individual should be responsible for nature and supporting the local ecosystem and sustainability. To promote greenery, improve air quality, reduce carbon dioxide, and encourage sustainable practices by reusing and nurturing plants.
Details - Plant Adoption was conducted wherein IIMU community members, including faculty, staff and students, planted and adopted the plants.

Objective - The primary objective of celebrating Labour Day is to recognize the contributions and acknowledge the dedication and hard work of labourers inside the campus and outside. Fostering a sense of solidarity among workers and labourers. To collectively address common challenges, empower the workforce and appreciate their achievements.
Details - Staff members, students, faculty, and faculty spouses joined together for this campaign and visited the labour colonies in and around campus to meet them. They celebrated this day with various activities for everyone to participate in.

Objective - The primary objective of the drive is to create awareness among the IIMU community members about the importance of regular blood donations. Blood donation remains crucial during the coronavirus pandemic for several reasons.
Details -Students, staff and faculty joined together for this campaign and donated approx. 200 units of blood. At the time of corona, a stable blood supply was required in various hospitals across the country. Moreover, IIMU and the associate blood bank gave an exchange card to individuals who gave blood. This card can be used to get blood whenever in need for their family members.

Objective - The primary objective of the drive was to improve personality and assist them in better and more useful techniques of working.
Details - Skill development and training sessions were conducted for in-house housekeeping, security and technical staff of the IIMU community. Special guests were invited for this. The General Manager of Leela Group of Hotels and the Housekeeping Manager of Aurika Hotels Udaipur were invited for the same.

Objective - The primary object is to create awareness among the girl child about health, education, mental wellness and self-defence techniques.

Details - Female students of IIMU, along with senior administrative officer Ms. Shanu Lodha, visited the school and taught self-defence techniques and mental hygiene awareness sessions on this occasion to spread education and develop self-confidence among the underprivileged girl child.

Objective - The major objective of this healthcare camp is to improve health literacy, identify individuals with health issues that require further medical attention, and facilitate their referral to appropriate healthcare facilities for comprehensive care. Also, to encourage and facilitate preventive healthcare measures.
Details - A free medical health check-up was conducted as a life-saving program that provided initial check-ups and care to rural school children under its CSR initiatives.
