Abhejit leads the Sustainability and CSR vertical at Axis Bank, India’s third largest private sector Bank. In his role, Abhejit leads a team of ESG and CSR professionals to deliver on Axis Bank’s vision and action across diverse sustainability mandates and towards achieving the Bank’s CSR priorities.
Prior to his current role, Abhejit held leadership roles in the sustainability domain at YES Bank and at the Essar Group, where he was instrumental in achieving several industry-firsts in India.
Abhejit is a member of the CII Climate Change Council and CII Net Zero Council for 2023-24 and on the FICCI National Task Force on ESG for 2022-23 and 2023-24. He is also a part of key industry initiatives focused on sustainable development and climate action and speaks extensively on these topics.
Abhejit is a postgraduate from the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta and has a bachelor’s degree from Drexel University, Philadelphia, USA. He lives in Mumbai with his wife and daughter, and enjoys being a father, travelling and gardening.
Shri Krishna Kumar Singh is an Electrical Engineer from IIT, BHU and holds PG Diploma in Human Resource Management. Shri Singh joined Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) in 1987 as Management Trainee (MT) and has served for more than 11 years on the shop-floor at Bhilai Steel Plant, gaining hands-on experience in steel manufacturing processes before switching over to HRD. Rising through the ranks, Shri Singh became Executive Director I/c (P & A) in SAIL before taking charge as the Director (Personnel) of the Company. He possesses vast experience of more than 36 years in diverse areas including management & administration of Operations, Human Resource, Education, Vigilance, Personnel & Industrial Relations.
During his stint as Chief of Education (CoE), Bhilai he was instrumental in several initiatives like merger of Schools and outsourcing of education services. He also successfully served as a faculty for subjects related to microplanning, MDP, Leadership etc. He has designed several contemporary training modules for addressing the core people and productivity related challenges on the shop-floor; leading to development of agile workforce teams. In his present role as Director (Personnel), of Steel Authority of India - the Maharatna steel maker to the nation, Shri Singh has taken several progressive initiatives in area of Performance Management, Succession & Career Progression Planning, Manpower Planning, Compensation & Benefit Management, Training & Development, Industrial Relations Management and Employee Engagement. He has also been instrumental in formulation & adoption of progressive HR policy framework in the Organization which primarily nurtures higher productivity levels, employee engagement levels, and a futuristic talent management framework in the Company.
Shri Singh is a seasoned Human Resource professional with a proven track record in fostering a culture of learning & development and leading high-performance teams. He has a great knack for analyzing complex organizational issues to devise innovative solutions. Rohit Gupta has held the pivotal position of District Collector in six districts, demonstrating exemplary leadership and administrative skills. As Secretary (Finance), Government of Rajasthan, he has led changes to reform the archaic financial and accounting rules and procedures, and making the Financial Management Systems technology-driven and human-centric.
