Silvertongues, the Toastmasters Club of Indian Institute of Management Udaipur, strives to build communication and leadership skills through weekly sessions designed by the Toastmasters International. This platform acts as an enabler to developing public speaking skills and complements management education. Performance is acknowledged and awarded through certification from Toastmasters International. Silvertongues offers opportunities to present speeches to an audience that are not confined to the institute, but at the district level and area level as well. Exposure to diversity in participants and audience aids in development of a broad and accommodating mindset, consequently, building and honing leadership skills.
Silvertongues came into existence in the year 2011 and has been dedicated to honing the communication and leadership skills of all its members through weekly sessions. Fast-track sessions have been designed and implemented to facilitate completion of targets set at the Area Level. Executive members of the club have attended training programs and are certified officers and judges.
Being the first Toastmasters club in Udaipur, Silvertongues is a mentor club to newly formed clubs in and around Udaipur. Silvertongues helps these clubs in putting their operations into place and aids in conducting their sessions through frequent assistance. At the Area level, the club has organized the International Speech and International Table Topics contests where the club's members have been awarded prizes in the Best Table Topics Speaker and Best Humorous Speech categories.
