Prof. Chandan Jha would present a research seminar on Thursday, 02 August 2018 from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm. The title of the seminar is "Condoning Corruption: Who Votes for Corrupt Political Parties?"
Prof. Jha Jha earned a doctorate in Economics from Louisiana State University in 2015 from where he also earned his Masters of Science in Economics in 2012. He completed his Masters of Arts in Economics from Gokhale Institute of Politics in Economics in 2009 and received his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Magadh University in 2007. His research interests include development economics, political economy, public economics, and labor economics.
His current research focuses on the issues of corruption and gender inequality. In addition, he also contributes articles on social and policy issues to Ideas for India, an economics and policy portal. He has published several Op-Ed articles on economic, social, and policy issues in the Hindu Business Line, a leading Indian business daily. He has presented papers at several conferences and workshops including the Allied Social Science Associations Meetings, Southern Economic Association Conferences, and the Economics of Corruption Workshop at the University of Passau, Germany.
