The second edition of Udaipur Runs, the annual marathon organised by Indian Institute of Management Udaipur was held at Rajiv Gandhi Udyan, Fateh Sagar Lake on Sunday 13th January 2019. The motive of this year's run was to spread awareness about cancer. The event was sponsored by Secure and was held in association with many partners like Radio City 91.5 FM, My Udaipur City, ICICI Bank, Ramada group of Hotels, DCB Bank, SMSGIG, Fortis Hospital, JK Hospital and Choudhary Offset Pvt Ltd.
This marathon was organized in three categories 8.2 km, 6 km and 3.5 km. The run saw enthusiastic participation of more than 1000 people. All the runners were provided bib and a tracker chip to help them track the timing of their run. There were also desks set up to collect the donation, which will be used to help the needy Cancer patients.
The Marathon event started with a quick warm up session by members of Lakesiders, the sports club of IIM Udaipur and culminated with the prize distribution ceremony.
The prize distribution ceremony was graced by Mr Roshan Menaria of DCB Bank where prizes worth 45,000/- were awarded to the winners. This run has set the stage for Utkrisht, the inaugural edition of the Sports Festival of IIM Udaipur, which will be held on 19th and 20th January 2019 as well as Audacity, which is the annual Cultural Festival of the Institute, scheduled to be held on 26-27 January 2019.
