IBP
IBP is an innovative elective course in the second-year syllabus. Students act as consultants to abroad-based clients on a clearly defined project. Students work in a team to address and make recommendations for the company’s problem. Client feedback is an important part of the grading for this course. Past locations have included Dubai, Singapore, Thailand and Malaysia.

- International Business & Practices is an innovative 4-credits elective course offered in the second-year of MBA Program.
2. What do students do in IBP?
- IBP requires a team of students to do a consultancy project for an abroad-based company as a part of their learning for this course. Team addresses and makes recommendations to the company’s live/real issue. Selection and allotment of students is done by IIMU. Scoping of the project is done by the IBP course faculty, in close consultation with the company. Throughout the course duration, the students are mentored by IBP course faculty, who themselves have substantive industry experience.
3. Where do students travel for IBP?
- It varies every year. In the past, projects were offered for countries Dubai, Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand.
4. In which domains the projects are offered?
- It varies every year. In the past, projects were offered in domains such as Marketing, Market Research, Strategy, Finance, Operations, Technology, HR and Business analytics.
5. Do students get paid for the consultancy work?
- Students do not get paid for working on a live project. IBP is an experiential learning opportunity.
6. How is the course conducted?
- Students work on-site abroad and on IIMU campus for this course. For off-site component, students work approximately 4 hours per week for 8 weeks (~30 hours) and for on-site component, students work approximately 8 hours per week for 2 weeks (~80 hours). The on-site travel dates for IBP are typically the days of the break between term IV & term V i.e. the first two weeks of September.
7. Who will take care of the logistics?
- For logistics students can make the travel and stay arrangements as per their choice & convenience.
8. Who are eligible for of IBP Program?
- 2-Year post-graduate master’s in business administration (MBA) Program students, who are in their MBA second year, are eligible to apply. Students must have minimum CGPA 2.5 till Term III and a valid passport at time of applying.
