About SPARC

The Scheme for Promotion of Academic and Research Collaboration (SPARC) aims to enhance India's research ecosystem by facilitating collaborations between Indian institutions and leading global institutions from 28 selected nations. This initiative focuses on joint research efforts to address national and international challenges, fostering knowledge exchange and leveraging global expertise.

Course Overview

This intensive doctoral-level course is designed to equip participants with the knowledge, skills, and tools necessary to build and manage resilient and sustainable supply chains. Supply chain management is increasingly acknowledged as an essential discipline across diverse sectors such as agriculture, retail, manufacturing, and logistics. Within the agricultural framework, the managing of the supply chain for perishable agricultural products necessitates the navigation of challenges associated with perishability, seasonality, transportation, and market fluctuations. Quantitative and empirical investigations in this domain concentrate on optimizing supply chain operations, minimizing waste, and promoting sustainability, thereby enhancing operational efficiency and profitability. In this course, we shall examine the application of supply chain management principles to tackle these unique challenges.

This course is geared towards providing exposure to supply chain theories and methodologies tailored to agri-fresh produce.

The course will be delivered in face-to-face mode only. Interested participants can join the course at the Indian Institute of Management Udaipur in offline mode (face-to-face). All the participants must fill out a registration form showing their interest in attending the course. A maximum number of 30 participants will be allowed. The duration of the course will be five days. Candidates will be shortlisted based on submitting valid proof of their PhD enrollment and a Statement of Purpose (SOP) of around 300 words. The course completion certificate will be given to participants with more than 80% attendance.
