1. What is an EMBA from IIMU?
The
Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA)
Program at IIM Udaipur is a two-year online degree program designed for working executives with a minimum of three years of full-time post-qualification work experience. This program is structured to accommodate maximum classes on weekends to cater to the needs of professionals balancing their career.
2. How is the EMBA different from the other long-duration programs at IIMU?
It is a unique opportunity for graduates who have not had the benefit of a formal post-graduate level management qualification. Delivered by the world-class faculty of IIM Udaipur, this program builds strong management fundamentals and leadership skills that serve both career enhancement as well as relevance due to its unique focus on new-age business paradigms like digital technologies, analytics, design thinking, etc.
This is a specially designed online program for executives that allows them to concurrently fulfill their weekday commitments. All classes will be held online on Saturdays and Sundays, and a few sessions will be scheduled on weekdays, late evenings.
3. Can I pursue the program from outside India?
Yes. However, you are responsible for managing time zone differences, and class timings will strictly follow only IST. Further, you must attend the two weeks on-campus modules at IIMU campus in person.
4. How many years of work experience do I need to have?
A minimum of three years of full-time post-qualification work experience is required.
5. Will I be getting a master's degree or diploma upon successful completion of the program?
Upon successfully meeting all the program requirements, including those concerning the examinations, participants will be awarded the degree of
‘Master of Business Administration’
by IIM Udaipur.
6. What will be the title of the degree certificate issued after successful completion of the program?
Upon successfully meeting all requirements of the program, including those regarding the examinations, participants will be awarded a degree in
Master of Business Administration
by IIM Udaipur.
7. Will my degree be awarded at an IIMU convocation?
Yes, there will be a separate convocation organized for this program.
8. Will the participant be given the Alumni status on successful completion of the program?
Yes
9. How are the classes conducted?
Classes will be delivered in an online format, featuring live and interactive sessions. Participants can attend the classes from their own preferred locations.
10. What are the class schedules for this course?
Classes will be conducted on Saturdays and Sundays, with two sessions to be held during the late evenings of weekdays. Typically, there are seven sessions each week, and each session is 90 minutes duration followed by Q&A/ tutorial. In addition, there are two mandatory on-campus modules, each of one week duration, scheduled at the beginning of the first and second year.
A detailed day-wise schedule will be circulated to participants at the beginning of each academic session.
11. What does ‘multiple-entry and stage-wise completion’ mean?
If a participant is unable to continue the program after completing one year, the candidate is allowed to discontinue the program. In that case, the candidate will be awarded the
‘Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration’
provided that the candidate meets all the requirements in the first year.
If the participant decides to continue the program later to earn an MBA degree, he/she can rejoin the program in the next academic cycle after paying the readmission fee along with the applicable program fee. However, the maximum permitted duration to complete the program is up to four years from the start of the program. For instance, if a candidate enrolls in the program in the Academic Year 2025-26, the candidate must complete all the requirements of the degree/diploma by the Academic Year 2028-29 to be eligible for a degree/diploma.
Moreover, if a participant drops in the middle of the program (for instance, after 6 or 18 months), the participant can rejoin the program in the next academic cycle to complete either the Diploma or the Degree. However, the participant has to meet all the previous requirements for re-entering, and the applicable fee.
12. Is there any fee levied on re-joining the course?
Yes, there is a fee of Rs 25,000 for every re-entry to the program.
13. What is the maximum duration for completion of the Degree/Diploma Program?
A candidate must complete all the requirements within four years of the start of the program.
14. What is a credit waiver?
A credit waiver permits participants to skip a few courses by acknowledging their prior knowledge, resulting in a reduced course load within the EMBA program. This can be particularly advantageous for those participants who have already mastered some of the material/courses already covered after a bachelor’s degree and offered in the EMBA program.
15. Is there any maximum credit waiver limit?
Yes, the maximum credit waiver one can be granted is up to 30 Credits.
16. What is the process of applying for the credit waiver?
Within the online application process for the program, there is an option to request a credit waiver. To do so, you need to provide a brief statement (approx. 200 words) explaining why you are seeking a credit waiver and specify the courses completed after the graduation degree for which you are making this request. It is recommended that, before making your application, you review the EMBA program course curriculum located on the EMBA Program page. This will help you to identify a few specific courses for which you intend to request a credit waiver. Courses completed at the bachelor's degree level will not be considered for the credit waiver. You need to provide details about your prior learning with the supporting documentation at a later stage.
17. Will I get a credit waiver once I apply?
It is important to note that applying for a credit waiver does not automatically guarantee its approval. The Program Committee will carefully assess your profile, and the outcome may involve a denial or granting of a credit waiver or, in some cases, a waiver for fewer credits than originally requested.
18. If I do not have a valid score of the CAT/GMAT/GMAT(Focus)/GRE, can I still apply for admission in this program?
IIMU will hold a test for those applicants who do not have a valid GMAT/GMAT(Focus)/GRE/CAT score. The IIMU test will be conducted, typically on Sundays (on multiple dates). Details and updates about the test schedule will be regularly posted on the Program page. We recommend visiting the Program page regularly for the latest information.
IIMU test can be taken from anywhere (there is no need to travel to any test center).
The results of candidates who participate in the IIMU test will be announced on a rolling basis as and when they become available.
19. How will the final selection decision be made?
Final selection will be made based on a combination of test results (GMAT/GMAT(Focus)/GRE/CAT/IIMU), overall profile and candidate’s performance in the Personal Interview.
20. What is the program fee for EMBA?
For the Academic Year 2025-27, the total program fee is Rs. 14,20,800 payable in seven installments for the duration of the entire program. For details, please refer to the Program Fee and Financing section.
21. Is there any loan facility available for funding the program?
Several banks offer education loans for this program. For information regarding the loan application process and additional details, please get in touch with the Admission Office or the contact person specified in the loan scheme document accessible on the Fee and Financing page.
22. What are the documents required to be submitted along with the online application?
The following documents are required to be submitted along with the online application.
Mark sheets and relevant examination/degree certificates of:
SSC/SSLC/Matriculation/Secondary School
PUC/Intermediate / Higher Secondary School

23. What are the requirements relating to class attendance?
There is a minimum attendance criterion of 70%.
24. What are the additional expenses to be borne by a participant for the On-Campus Modules?
IIMU will cover all on-campus boarding and lodging expenses. Participants are responsible for their own travel expenses to attend the on-campus modules. If needed, IIMU can assist in making local transportation arrangements.
25. I have a total work experience of three years. However, some of my experience is before the completion of graduation. Can I apply for this program?
No. Applicants must possess a minimum of three years of full-time post qualification experience as on May 07, 2025.
26. Does the Institute provide Placement Support/Career Services for the EMBA?
In this transformative executive program, we foster an environment where you are encouraged to take charge of your own career journey, empowering you to shape your future success. Thus, Placement Support is not offered however career advisory service is the part for this program.

There is no international exposure available in this program.
32. Would I have access to the infrastructure facilities at the IIM Udaipur campus during on-campus modules?
Yes. During on-campus modules, the participants are welcome to use campus infrastructure facilities at IIM Udaipur including the library, computer facilities, sports facilities, digital resources etc.
33. What is Withdrawal Policy?
You can withdraw before the withdrawal deadline through the online application portal. Withdrawal date is 5th May 2025 8PM. Please note that the Commitment Fee is non-refundable. Only the first installment paid is refundable. Withdrawal requests will be only accepted if withdrawn from the online application portal.
34. When will the Refund be credited in account?
Your refund will be processed after the program starts and will take min 30 days.
35. Is there a cut-off score for the GMAT/GMAT (Focus)/GRE/CAT ?
No, there is no particular cut-off score of the GMAT/GMAT (Focus)/GRE/CAT for EMBA at IIM Udaipur. A valid score is required for admissions.
36. How can experience be calculated?
Completed months will be calculated from the start date to the end date of one or multiple tenures of work experience with one or multiple organizations, served after achieving the minimum educational qualification and completed months until 7th May 2025. The number of completed months will be determined by dividing the total number of days of work experience by 30, and using the quotient without considering decimals.
